We did it. We are half way through. This is fantastic and you are doing great. May the Lord reward your effort and determination.

Today we wrap up the theme of meditation. We've covered some various perspectives and aspects, methods and benefits. And I truly hope it is a help as you exercise these.

You've head the song, "count your blessings, name them one by one". The reason why this is so true and so helpful is because what you focus on becomes bigger. What you give your undivided attention to becomes unquestionable in your life. It increases in importance and informs your emotions. If you focus on losses you become sad. If you focus on betrayal you become bitter. If you focus on blessings, you feel loved.

One of the powerful purposes of meditation is to focus your mind on who God is, who you are in him and who he wants you to be to others. It's about identity more than inventory. Whoever loves you more will give you more. So where your focus is will inform you where your love is coming from... Or the absence of it.

Today I want us to mediate on this passage and see if what I just said makes sense.

MEDITATE ON THIS

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure. 1 John 3:1-3

COME CLEAN

Praise God for your mind and that God knows our thoughts, speaks to our thoughts and reveals himself to us right there. Offer your mind to him as a cathedral of worship and fellowship with him. Praise God for the learning and growing you've experienced in the last twenty days.
