Courage for the Unknown It’s amazing, the difference your Father’s hand can make, when you are walking into the unknown – which is exactly where God leads His children. He often leads us out of the tent of our comfort zone, out of the light of the familiar and safe surrounding, and into a new territory. And the trail ahead is full of questions. Our Heavenly Father assures us, by saying that He got us onto this road. He says, “Take hold of My hand because I am going to lead you and take care of you all the way.” Now, if God called you into something, He will do it. You are not the first child that He’s led on a path full of uncertainty. He did it with His children, the Israelites, who spent 40 years in the wilderness. Listen to Moses’ summary of what God does for us, when He is leading us into the unknown -Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you (Deuteronomy 1:29b-30a NIV). That is your guarantee. You can keep walking confidently into the unknown because your Father is committed to coach you where to step next, to carry you when you can’t go any further, to protect you from harm, and to care for you, providing for your every need. So no matter how dark the road ahead looks, no matter how scared you feel, you just grab hold of your Father’s hand and keep walking in the direction that He leads you. Prayer Lord, I know I can count on You and trust in You when I walk in the direction that You are calling me. Lead me and guide me on this road ahead, Lord, so that Your name will be glorified. Amen.
