Passion for God’s House King Josiah encouraged the priests to serve in the house of the Lord. He had many responsibilities as King; yet he showed keen interest in the matters of the church. What is our passion towards the Lord and His Kingdom? Are we burdened about our church, or are we concerned about the cares of this world - busy running the pace of our own lives? We are all priests in the house of the Lord, and the Bible calls us ‘royal priesthood’ (Exodus 19:6, 1 Peter 2:5). Jesus is a true example for us as High Priest – He came to serve and not be served. As priests, God has given us a responsibility - the ministry of reconciliation – to reconcile the world to Himself (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). Friends, there are plenty of needs in the church. Have we seized our hearts with any of them? Today, let us wrap ourselves with pursuits that are from above (Colossians 3:1) – the Church of God and the thousands perishing every day. We can learn from Gaius (3 John 1:5), who loved the Church and his people, whom he served faithfully and diligently. Let us love one another, encourage each other and serve together in the house of the Lord. Let us carry out all responsibilities given to us to build the Church. Let us do it with our whole heart. We can do it if we have true love for God, and we will surely see God’s kingdom here on earth. Prayer Lord, may I live to serve You diligently with enthusiasm, and also encourage others to serve You. Amen.
