Have you ever promised yourself that you’re going to create better habits? You stop eating fast food or start working out, and then after a few weeks, your initial excitement and dedication fade. You might fall back into your same old habits. Even though you know exercise and good nutrition lead to a healthy body, why do you stop? It may be because you tried to do it alone, without a support system.
Our spiritual life can be the same! Sometimes, it’s hard to gain momentum and thrive in our relationship with Jesus when we try to do it alone. It’s why Jesus encourages his followers to pair up and never leave one another on their own. You can see many examples in the book of Acts about the early church serving together and praying together — because they knew they were better together.
In what ways can you grow together in your faith with your friends? What are some ways serving together can help you grow close to Jesus?
