God invites you to be in a relationship with Him. 1 Corinthians 1:9 You can approach Him with confidence. Ephesians 3:12 He wants you to respond freely to His invitation. He doesn’t force Himself onto anyone. James 4:8
Know and understand Him
You can brag about knowing and understanding Him well. Jeremiah 9:23-24 It’s a life-changing journey to get to know the intentions, feelings, and will of God the Almighty Creator! He wants you to understand and know Him well. 1 John 5:20
Knowing Him seals your salvation
Matthew 7:21-23 Don’t these verses send a cold shiver down your spine?
God knows who has a true heart of love for Him and who is just busy with church activities, religious talk, and acting as if they love God. 1 Corinthians 8:3
As you get to know His heart, you will begin to like and admire Him. You will start to love what He loves and hate what He hates. Psalm 19:8 Growing in your relationship with Him will also keep you on the road to everlasting life, making John 17:3 meaningful to you.
How do you get to know Him?
If you really want to know God personally, set your mind and heart fully on seeking genuine connection with Him. Ask God to help you with the self-discipline you need to spend quality time with Him daily. Jeremiah 29:13 He wants to help you and will do so as well. Jeremiah 24:7
Make time
Jesus made it clear: spending time with Him is the most important thing. When He visited the home of two sisters, Mary decided to sit down by Jesus and spent time with Him, while Martha kept on being too busy. Luke 10:38-42
There will always be other things to do. If you want a special and close relationship with God, making time for Him must become the most important thing in your life. To know God is something so valuable. No one can take it away from you.
