Day One - I Can Grow to be Like Jesus

During this series we will be journeying together through the bible to discover more about creation and how we are created by God, unique and with purpose. In addition we will follow Jonah on his journey of change and discover how God makes a way for Jonah to make better choices. Just like a caterpillar changes into a butterfly, we too can change and become more like Jesus.  

This week we are going to be looking at how ‘I Can Grow to Be Like Jesus’

READ:

‘Jonah and the Big Fish’ in a Children’s Bible or Jonah 1:1 - 3:10.

Whilst Jonah was inside the Big Fish he prayed. Sometimes praying can be one of the last things we think of. However, when we want to become more like Jesus, praying is the first thing we can think to do.  

Jesus spent much of His time praying and talking to God. We can grow to be just like Jesus. 

ASK:

Is there something you can pray about today? 

Ask your grown up to pray with you. Maybe make a note of what you are praying for in a prayer journal or notebook. 

REMEMBER:

Look at the new thing I am going to do.

It is already happening. Don’t you see it?

I will make a road in the desert.

I will make rivers in the dry land. (Isaiah 43:19)

SAY:

Thank you, Lord, that you have created us all unique and wonderful.  

Help us to love you and everyone you have placed in our lives and 

to become more like you every day - in Jesus name - Amen.
