Day Two - I find God in my Bible

Yesterday we learned about how God had blessed Hannah with a baby boy, Samuel, how Hannah was so grateful for her baby boy and had kept her promise and taken Samuel to the Tabernacle to serve God all his life. Today we are going to look at how Hannah took Samuel to Eli at the tabernacle and how this was a special place for people to worship God.

When Hannah brought Samuel to the tabernacle she explained to Eli the priest that God had heard her prayer and blessed her with a baby boy. 

Tabernacle means a tent and was a ‘special place’ where people would go to worship God. God’s people could pack everything up and move it when they traveled through the wilderness.  This was in a time where God’s people had escaped Egypt and before the first temple (stone building) was built and many, many years before Jesus came. 

Hannah explained to Eli the priest that she had promised God that Samuel would serve God all his life. 

ASK:

Do you think we need to go to a ‘special place’ to worship today? 

After Jesus came and then the Holy Spirit came, it was possible to worship when and wherever we want - we no longer have to go to a ‘special place’ to worship. 

Where is your favorite place to worship?
