Day One - I find God in my Bible

Welcome to our Devotional. We are so glad that you have chosen to journey with us. We believe that the Bible is the greatest news and it is to be shared with anyone, anywhere! Do you know that God can use your words to share His message in ways that your friends will understand? Let’s dive deeper into the Bible and see how God’s word is still relevant to our time! 

Last week we learned all about how Hannah had prayed honestly to God and that God answered her prayers and gave her a baby boy.  We also learned about the Lord’s Prayer.

This week we are going to be looking at how we can find God in His word (the Bible). Reading our Bible is just one of the ways we can see and hear about how God loves us and the promises He makes to us.  God’s word, the Bible, is like a map for our lives and is full of wonderful truths that God wants us to know. Today we will look at how Hannah was grateful for her baby boy and the promise Hannah made to God when she prayed. 

READ:

‘A Voice in the night’ in any Children’s Bible or 1 Samuel 3 (ICB)

When Hannah prayed and asked God for a baby boy, she promised that if God gave her a son she would make sure that he served God all his life. 

In this story we see that Hannah had kept her promise and had brought Samuel to the tabernacle to live there, to learn from Eli the priest, and to spend his life serving God. 

Hannah was so grateful for her baby boy that she wanted him to know and serve God all of his life. 

God is always good and He had an incredible plan for Samuel.  Samuel would spend his life learning about and serving God in the tabernacle. 

ASK:

Is there something that you are grateful for today? 

Can you think of a creative way to let God know how grateful you are?

Open my eyes to see the wonderful things in your teachings. (Psalm 119:18)

SAY:

I believe that the Bible has the greatest news,

That you gave to help us find our way. 

Your word can be shared with anyone, anywhere! 

We trust what your word says.
