Diets Don't Work - This Does!

DAY 2 OF 5

When you answered the questions from Day 1, you discovered your “Why”. It is the foundation you will need to motivate yourself to stay committed to making lasting changes and why you started this journey in your life. So, how do you begin?

There are three steps that I call the ABCs of fitness. “A” stands for ASK. Ask God for help.
God wants us to come to Him for what we need. If you think you can succeed at making lasting healthy lifestyle changes on your power alone, you will not make it. This is a quote from my Bible commentary, “The secret to victory is first to admit the futility of unaided human effort and then to trust God to save. His power works best through those who recognize their limitations. It is those who think they can do it on their own that are in the greatest danger.” 

Have an open heart to ask God to help in your desire to get healthy. 

If you pray every day already, that is great! If you do not pray, why not start now? A few things to consider as you begin your time with God: 

*Where and when should I pray? Do what works for you in a quiet and comfortable place.
*How long should I pray?  Start with five minutes a day. You may end up praying longer.
*What should I say? Say what is on your heart. This is just a conversation between you and God. Make your request and then be still and listen.  

If you acknowledge God, He will direct your path every step of the way. God is all-powerful and you can lean on Him to lead you through the highs and lows of life and this fitness plan.
Ask for help to change your thinking about health and fitness. Ask for help to change your cravings and desires to eat sugar. Ask Him to make healthy lifestyle changes a permanent part of your life. Ask Him to help you do things that you find difficult. Ask for His strength to overcome any challenges. Ask for energy throughout each day. And thank God for giving you the help that you will need to be successful.

To do:
1.  Pray and ask for help each day from God.
2. Pay attention to added sugar in your food and try to remove it from your diet.
