Matthew: Part 2Sample

Matthew: Part 2

DAY 4 OF 10

Put yourself in the disciples’ shoes. It’s 3 in the morning, which means it is pitch-black out. You’re on a boat in the middle of the lake and a storm comes. The wind and the waves are coming at you. You’re already a bit scared and then you see a person walking on the water towards you!

You can understand why the disciples screamed, “it’s a ghost!”. You probably would’ve done the same.

But, did you notice what Jesus did? He spoke. Remember, it would’ve been dark, but the disciples heard Jesus and they recognized His voice.

How do you get to recognize Jesus’ voice? Well, the disciples spent a lot of time with Him - like, every single day for a couple of years with Him.

If God were to speak to you today, would you recognize His voice? Have you spent time with him to learn His voice?

The more time you spend with someone, the more you get to know their voice. The more time you spend with God, the more you’ll recognize His voice.

Now, you might be asking, “How do I hear from God?” Great question. The top way God speaks to us today is through the Bible. Spend time hearing from God and learn His voice by doing Bible reading plans, just like this.

God can also speak through other people. God might use a friend, parent, or leader to give you some wisdom or advice. As followers of Jesus, we also have the Holy Spirit. God himself is with us guiding us, encouraging us, and teaching us.

Pray and ask God to help you recognize His voice in your life.
