God's Will is to Unite All Things in Christ
- What was the ultimate purpose of God’s will?
- Why did He choose to adopt us?
- What has He blessed us with? (what does He lavish upon us?) Picture Him doing this.
- What do we learn about grace in this passage?
- What is the mystery of His will? (ie. what He wants to see in the future and is working toward now)
- How might we play a part in accomplishing this part of His will? (to unite people to Him)
- Note every reference to “in him” and write down what is true about us as His children.
- What do we learn about the counsel of His will? How does it relate to God being Sovereign? How can we find comfort in that?
Praise God for how He has blessed us with these spiritual blessings. (everything you marked about what is true about you “in Him”). Thank God that He not only saved you because He loves you but because He has a plan for your life. Ask Him to show you how you can be a part of uniting all things, but especially people, to Him. Thank Him for His Sovereignty and how we can rest in the fact that He has a purpose in all that happens, even when we don’t understand it. Thank Him for the security we have in Him.
