GO2020 | ENGAGE: January Week 2 - WORDSample

January 20
Read
John 1:1-14
Isaiah 53:4-12
Reflect
We won’t be very effective at telling others the good news of Jesus unless we really do think it is good news. Before we talk to others about our Lord, our hearts must consider him worthy to be talked about. The Bible calls that seeing his glory—in other words, understanding the weightiness and the beauty of our Creator. There are infinite ways to see that glory, but the clearest picture of it is in the face of Jesus Christ.
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passages. Say or write them out in your own words, considering the following questions.
· What do they say about God?
· What do they say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply these Scriptures to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, John 17:3. Spend a few minutes beginning to memorize it.

About this Plan

What is the good news? Jesus offered his followers a full and fulfilling life, one that would not only last into eternity, but have eternal significance. He called it an “abundant” life, and he claimed that he was the only source of that life.
