GO2020 | ENGAGE: January Week 2 - WORDSample

January 23
Read
Philippians 2:5-11
Reflect
To think that we should have the same attitude of humility that Christ did! Being a witness for Christ means first putting aside our “rights” and prerogatives. It means dying to ourselves—dying to our comfort, dying to our pride and reputation, even dying to our apathy. Rather, we are to pour ourselves out for others, helping them to see the joy of bowing the knee to Christ.
Engage
Reread the Scripture passage. You’ve now read it two days in a row. Does anything stand out to you differently than it did yesterday? Consider the ENGAGE questions again. Don’t be afraid of the repetition. We learn more about God each time we read and reread his Word.
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, John 17:3. Spend a few minutes working to memorize it.

About this Plan

What is the good news? Jesus offered his followers a full and fulfilling life, one that would not only last into eternity, but have eternal significance. He called it an “abundant” life, and he claimed that he was the only source of that life.
