A Kid's Guide To Acts

DAY 6 OF 7

Be Prepared To Tell Others About Jesus

You have to win these tickets. You love this singer—her songs are legend. You’re hoping you’ll be the lucky caller to your favorite radio station so you can say why you love the music. With two free tickets, you’ll take your friend, who’s forever down and listens to depressing songs. You want to talk to her about real hope.

First Peter 3:15 talks about being prepared to share with others the “reason for the hope that is in you.” Being prepared puts you right in line for acting on what God wants you to do. When Paul went on the road to talk about Jesus, he knew he needed to say the right thing at the right time to relate to people’s lives and hearts. After Paul was arrested in Jerusalem, he was taken to Caesarea. In Acts 24, Paul got to speak to the Roman governor and his wife about his faith in Jesus. You can be prepared by reading God’s Word and being open to telling those around you about God’s love.

What can happen when you have a ready answer about why you love and follow Jesus?

Imagine you’re on call to be interviewed by a local TV station about why you love Jesus. Write down some ways to prepare and what you want to say. You don’t have much time, so think about the most important reasons and write those down first.
