Jesus Can Make You A New Person
Your friend is always late for school, church, practice—and not just a little late… a lot. His stack of tardy slips is as thick as a deck of cards! Today he’s early. “What gives?” you ask. He beams: “Mom’s car got a new engine. No more breaking down and being stuck on the side of the road.”
What a difference when something broken gets fixed! The apostle Paul, originally named Saul, discovered this truth on the road to Damascus while on his way to arrest and persecute Christians. Saul was broken; he was full of hate. God loved Saul enough to stop him and ask, “What are you doing?!” The risen Christ blinded Saul, and being blinded actually opened his eyes to God’s love and helped him understand that Jesus remakes broken lives. Read 2 Corinthians 5:17 to see how Jesus can remake you into something new.
Draw a winding road on a piece of paper. If this road were your life so far, where have you gotten stuck? Draw things along the roadway that symbolize where you got stuck and how you got out. Where is God in this picture?
