Jesus Revealed Pt. 9 - Exposed!

DAY 3 OF 5

Confession of the healed man Pt. 1

Thoughts on the Passage

This is so funny. A former blind man has the religious leaders all tied in knots.

They see something that they cannot agree with (Jesus healing on the Sabbath) – and they are trying to find a way to ignore what they see. Every time they try, they dig a deeper hole that they must climb out of. Everything they try blows up in their face. Everything.

They try to get the man to make a mistake in repeating his story – it is the same every time.

They argue among themselves – they cannot agree there either.

They try and get the man to give them a way out – he calls Jesus a prophet.

They try and get the parents to give them a way out – they refuse to get involved.

This is the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. He gives us the words that we need to say that are way beyond what we could possibly think about. He gives us exactly the words to say – if we will listen to Him.

Application

Stop and think about a time when you had to respond in a difficult situation. Did you listen to God before you spoke? Did you try and answer with your own wisdom? Today, when you face a harsh situation, ask God to make you stop… make you stop some more… help you listen to the Spirit… and then answer.

Time to Pray

Father, I know my heart. I let my words and what I think defend me rather than reveal You and Your heart. It is time for me to change the words that come out of my heart and out of my mouth. They need to be words that bless people, that honor the name of Jesus, that honor the Bride of Jesus (the Church), and that help people to do the same. I know that something will arise today where I get a chance to do this. Give me a quiet heart to hear Your Spirit, and a humble heart to only say what He tells me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan

Jesus Revealed Pt. 9 - Exposed!

When things are exposed – they are no longer hidden. People see it and they talk. Rather than dealing with the result of being exposed, we try so hard to hide – making excuses for these areas when they become visible. In...
