Here Comes The Bride - Prophetic Gallery Series

DAY 1 OF 6

Here Comes The Bride

Thoughts on the Passage

Now we introduce the third and final woman found in Revelation – the Bride of Christ.

Her introduction is much different that the other two. The one representing Israel focused on her destiny of bringing the Messiah and dealing with satan’s attack against her and her children (the church). The second woman deals with a world system embraced by mankind that is in opposition to this Messiah – and her subsequent judgment. This woman, the Bride of Christ, brings God’s people together as one people prepared for eternity with Jesus. There is joy, excitement, celebration, revelation, and above all – eternity with the Groom.

There are several key concepts here.

First, celebration.

There is a lot of joy released. Marriages do that. There is such great times of celebration and outpouring of dancing, rejoicing, happiness and love. It is a special day in the life of people. The Bride has made herself ready and she is about to make her grand entrance.

Second, a ready Bride.

The Bride is ready. She is dressed in white linen – pure and spotless. God works on us now to prepare us for that day. He is cleansing us, purifying us and helping us to walk in truth. Normally, the Groom does not give the dress to the Bride, but here we see that God gives the Bride her dress – and it is beautiful.

Third, a Blessing.

There are seven blessings mentioned in the book of Revelation. This is the fourth one. This one goes to everyone invited to the wedding – not just to watch but to take part in it. It is the most amazing blessing. We are given the honor of a special invitation to the wedding of the Creator. Hang on to that invitation!!

Fourth, a testimony of Jesus.

This word testimony is the same word used in Acts 1:8 where we are called witnesses of Jesus to our world – pointing our world to Jesus. It comes in three ways.

-- it is the privilege of the saints (we give a testimony of Jesus).

-- it is role of the Spirit (the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy).

-- it is the purpose of Prophesy (the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy).

So have a good testimony of Jesus – point clearly.

Prayer

Father, this is a special and fun time. Getting ready for a wedding is so much fun and excitement. To be invited – and able to take part in – the wedding of the Son of God, is just so special. So often we look at the wedding as a focus on the Bride and her beauty. That is true. Today, I see something else. It is all about the Groom – Jesus. Everything points to Him. He provides the dress for the Bride, He is the focus of their attention, and He is the focus of heaven. It is His day. Until then, help me to point my world to the Groom. In Jesus Name, Amen.
