“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people” (Matthew 4:19).
Maybe you’ve heard about Jesus for the first time. Maybe you’ve known about him your whole life. But now, Jesus speaks to you directly.
We all come from a different place. We all have different struggles and pains. But no matter who you are, Jesus is calling you today.
He’s inviting you into a new story. In this new story, he’ll tell us about our new identity, purpose, community, and more. It begins by saying yes.
When Jesus called his first followers, he didn’t tell them what was coming. They had no idea how radically their lives would change. All they had was a choice: Would they say yes to Jesus, or not?
Yet Jesus doesn’t leave us blind. “Follow me, and I will send you out to fish for people.” From the beginning, our call has been to know Jesus and share his love with others. We’re invited not only into a relationship, but into an adventure. You have no idea how radically your life will change.
What reservations do you have about following Jesus? What fears or uncertainties hold you back? We encourage you to have an honest conversation with a Christian you trust about these questions or fears. Then decide—even if you don’t have it all figured out—are you willing to follow Jesus?
