Discerning His Will

There are hundreds of choices we make on a daily basis. What do we wear? What do we eat? Who do we hang out with? And on and on and on. But what about the big decisions in life, the choices God wants us to make for our lives? How do we know it’s a decision that lines up with His will? 

Thoughts:

Figuring out what God’s will is for our lives can be pretty intimidating. How do we know what it is? How do we know if we are hearing right? This verse, breaks it down and shows us how simple it can be. For us to know what God has for our lives, for us to line ourselves up with God, we have to live transformed lives and renew our minds. If we do that, this verse says that we will be able to TEST and APPROVE the will of God. 

“Ok, how do I live a transformed life and get a renewed mind?” You have to get into the Word of God, you have to spend time in prayer, you have to spend time in worship. For you to know the desires of someone, you have to spend time with them. The more time that you spend with God, through prayer, worship and reading the Bible, the more confident you will be in knowing what His will is for your life. 

Challenge:

1. DAILY! Do you regularly spend time in your Bible, worshipping and praying?


2. BE TRANSFORMED! Are you willing to be transformed? In your thoughts, actions and choices? What is the hardest part of surrendering to God’s Will for you?


3. PRAY! Challenge yourself for the next week to spend 5 minutes a day reading your Bible and praying to renew your mind.
