Use it or Lose it

Did you know that over $1 Billion goes unused in gift cards every year? That is devastating! Even worse than having an unused gift card is when you don’t use a blessing from God. God speaks to us, gives us dreams, ideas, and abilities so that we can live blessed in His will for our lives and also be a blessing to others, but if we don’t use it we lose it! Check out what Jesus has to say about this.

Thought:

This story shows us how God has gifted everyone in one way or another. Some have been entrusted with much, and others with less, but everyone has been given something. Jesus emphasizes the importance of valuing and using all that God has given to us. Whether you feel that God has entrusted you with a lot or a little, the truth is that if we don’t choose to use what God has given to us we won’t be entrusted with more. In fact, the story shows that even the little that someone has can be taken away. 

Maybe you are afraid to use what God has given to you, or maybe you’re just lazy. Choose today to be obedient to God’s call in your life and take action. If God has spoken to you about praying for a friend, or sharing your faith with someone or maybe joining your youth group leadership team, worship team, etc… do it! Never forget that being obedient and faithful in the little will lead you to walk towards God’s will for your life.

1. GOD’S WILL! What do you believe God’s will is for your life?


2. TAKE ACTION! What do you feel God spoke to you about at youth convention? What action step is God calling you to take?


3. PRAY! Take time to write 1-3 things that you believe God is calling you to take action on and ask Him to show you your next step.
