Dead Flies 

Several years ago, we visited the Hindustan Photo Films Company in Ooty. High quality photo films, X-ray films and cinema reels were being manufactured there. Before we could enter that place, we were taken to a room to make us clean (to sterilize us). They gave us a pair of sterilized foot wear. We were given another dress with which we were asked to cover our whole body. After inspecting whether we were fully covered with the special attire, we were taken inside. They said, “Sir, even if a speck of dirt settles on the films, it would spoil them. They would be damaged. That’s why we have given this special attire to maintain a clean atmosphere.” 

How true it is! The dust is like the dead flies that the above mentioned verse talks about. Just like those ‘films’, your visions and goals too are very valuable to allow dead flies settle on them. Yes! they will cause your goal to rot. Watch out for those small dead flies that might be eating away your success, unseen. It can be over sleeping, over eating, slander, dishonesty, greediness, anger or contempt. Though they are invisible, their consequences are highly visible. My friend, today is the clean-up day. Remove the dead flies from your life. Diffuse the fragrance of Christ! 

Prayer

“Loving Father, I thank You for opening my eyes to the presence of ‘dead flies’ in my life. Today, I choose to clean up every part of my life. I plead for Your grace in this regard. Help me to live by Your will, by diffusing the fragrance of Christ every day. Thank You for making me clean. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
