Day Three - I Honour Others 

Welcome to this devotional for kids!  Our ‘UP’ series is inspired by our ‘We Will Elevate’ DNA - We practise showing kindness to those around us and never leave anyone out. We value others the way God values us by being a good friend and listener, respecting our leaders and parents, and choosing to always see the good in others.

During this series we want to truly grasp what it means to honour and elevate those around us - not just those who seem to be popular or are the most important in our lives, but to remember that God wants us to ‘take delight in honouring each other’ that means everyone! 

Follow along as we truly grasp what it means to honour and elevate those around us!

There are many ways that we can honour others. Sometimes God will ask you to do something bold and daring to honour someone! Jesus knew what it meant to be bold and daring with the way He valued others as He washed His disciples' feet. 

ASK:

When we think about being courageous and daring - maybe we start to think about brave superheroes or great adventurers but we can also be daring in the way we care for others too!

Perhaps it will mean that God asks you to show value to a worker in a shop, someone in school that doesn’t know you very well, the postal worker - whoever it is - take the time today to ask God how you can be daring in the way you love and value others. 

When we love others the way that God loves us, it leaves a wonderful smile on their face and could really change their day or even the way that they see themselves!

There is a quote that says ‘We love others best when we love God most’. 

REMEMBER:

Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honouring each other. (Romans 12:10)

SAY:

Jesus, you show us how to be kind, 

No greater love will we find. 

Your deep love that gives us great value, 

Growing us as we learn more about you. 

Our friend, our saviour, our kind teacher, 

Helping us see the good in each other.
