Day Five

Welcome to our Daily Devotional for our new series "This Is Us" - During this series we are going to journey through our Freedom Church DNA.  Some of you may know that DNA is like the secret code inside you - the thing that makes you, well, you!  You may also know that God created us in His image and wants us to live our best life.

This week we are looking at our Freedom DNA -  Wildfire and Punch Above our Weight!

Let’s look at Punch Above our Weight and how David knew that God was with him, so was not afraid to fight the Giant Goliath.

Punching above our weight

With audacious faith, we set impossible goals. We take bold, confident steps and watch our God move. We are giant-killers who refuse to limit the Holy Spirit.

READ:

‘David and Goliath’ in the Beginners Bible (pages 173-180) or in 1 Samuel 16.

David took just five small stones from the stream to fight the giant with.

David  told Goliath - ‘I come before you in the name of the Lord, who rules over all’.

David was Punching above his weight because he knew God would make it possible for David to win the battle.

ASK:

How can you make sure that you remember that God will make it possible for you to win any battle?

REMEMBER:

So God created human beings in his image. In the image of God he created them. He created them male and female (Genesis 1:27)

SAY:

God created me,

Magnificent you can see.

Every cell and part,

Were designed in His heart.

From the beginning of creation,

Every clan, tribe and nation.

Made in His image,

With purpose, love and to encourage.

Whatever come what may,

This is my DNA!
