Everyone immediately thinks “betrayer” when they hear the name Judas. The story is legendary but is actually true and historically accurate. What was he like, and what about the God whom he betrayed?

The Bible book of John describes Jesus' last days on earth. Jesus was captured and sentenced to death. He died on a cross, but also rose again from the dead! This reading plan takes you through John's account so that you too can experience the miracle and the joy of Easter.

The Farewell Discourse of Jesus (John 12–17) is intentional and urgent. He knows betrayal, abandonment, suffering, death, and glory are at hand. This 10-day journey walks us slowly from the anointing at Bethany to the prayer in the garden, listening carefully to Jesus’ last words. Words meant to anchor us and carry us through the cross into resurrection life. This Easter journey invites us not only to remember the cross but to receive what Jesus intentionally gave on the way to it, trusting that His last words are strong enough to carry us through suffering into resurrection life.

This reading plan explores the fourth gospel. John wrote the fourth gospel to assure persecuted Jewish believers that Jesus was the fulfillment of God's ancient promises to the Jews; that Jesus really is the Christ, the Son of God. John wanted to make sure that they would remain faithful to Jesus and enjoy abundant life in him.

What do the miracles that Jesus performed 2000 years ago have to do with your life? Quite a lot, because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is a God of miracles and just as he raised his friend Lazarus from the dead back then, he can give you new life today in areas of your life that have long felt dead.

We walk to the cross where we experience the great unveiling and see things as they really are. We see God for who God is, and we discover ourselves for who we are.
