Burn Your White Flags (Hebrews)

NGÀY 9 TRONG 29

It’s easy to feel alone in our struggles. Like no-one else quite gets it. We believe that this struggle is ‘unique to me’. Perhaps that’s a lie from the enemy, or an unwillingness on our part to talk to others. But the truth is, there are plenty of people who identify with our weakness, including Jesus himself! Here are some of the most comforting verses in the entire Bible! Jesus knows what it’s like! Not that He’s had the exact same experience as you, but He has had similar. He’s experienced the full range of temptations and weakness. All of it! Minus sin itself. He felt the desire to take the easy route (Matthew 26:39); the shortcut of disobedience (Matthew 4:1-11). So, He gets it. Sometimes I think Jesus is disappointed that I’m weak and wrestle in this way. But these verses are a reminder of how Jesus responds. With sympathy. It’s the same way a mother feels for her hurting child Since, Jesus is sympathetic and understands, He’s approachable. You can draw near, not with fear of rejection but with a confidence of finding help. Jesus's sympathy is not that He just feels sorry for us—He’s also helpful. In our time of need Jesus offers mercy and grace. His throne is a throne of grace and you’re invited to experience it. So next time you struggle and feel alone, remember... Jesus gets it. He’s not only sympathetic, He’s also helpful. There is fresh grace and new mercy today!
