38 Years 

Chronic health problems always lead to frustrations and destroys every hope of getting well. This is what happened to a man at the pool of Bethesda. The man whom the Lord saw in Bethesda was lying there with much pain for 38 years. Although the cure for his malady was so close to him, he was unable to receive healing. Many times, when the water was stirred by an angel, he tried to stumble into the water. But alas! Someone else entered into the water first and received their healing. This happened every time. Above all, his disease worsened because of his intense stress. As days passed by, he lost all hopes of ever being healed. That was the time when the Lord Jesus asked him, “Son! Do you wish to be healed?” When Jesus told him to “Rise and walk”, he was completely healed. 

Is something troubling you for a long time? Are you being denied your due promotion for a long time? Any chronic illness? Dealing with jealous people all your life? Failure in job or exams? My beloved, be not dismayed. When Jesus knows your desire, it will be fulfilled. Yes, He will put an end to all your problems. 

Prayer

“Loving heavenly Father, You are the God who creates desire in my heart and fulfills them. I believe that Your desire concerning me are for my best life and for Thy glory. Today, I bring all my long-term wishes that are unfulfilled to You. Grant them and make my joy complete. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
