Imitator of God 

I had a teacher in my school who would write beautifully on the blackboard. I was fascinated by his handwriting and I acquired the same handwriting just by observing it. It was so convenient for my classmates. Do you know why? They would take home their report card with the ‘Teacher’s signature’, which was actually signed by me. I became everyone’s favourite because of this. But I would pray in my heart, “Have mercy on me. Blind the eyes of my teacher. Let me never get caught.” Those were my naughty days in school. Later, the same teacher became a good friend of mine. The teachers handwriting was beautiful and I loved it. So, I wanted to imitate it. 

Yes, leaders set examples to the people. As leaders are, so are the citizens. As parents are, so are the children. Therefore, as God’s children, we are here to imitate God. How do we imitate Him? “Walk in love” is the answer. It is not hard for you because God’s love has already been poured into your heart. Simply imitate God and spread the aroma of Jesus, for your calling is to be like Jesus on this earth and this will bring many to Christ. You are a living epistle. Let people see Jesus in you. 

Prayer

“Loving Father, I give all that I have to You. I bring all my weaknesses to You. As Your word says, enable me to become an “imitator of God”. Fill me with the spirit of prayer, praise and worship. Help me to move in the Spirit. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
