Once, my father’s friend had a heart problem and doctors said that he had to undergo bypass surgery. Great fear gripped his heart. They made preparations for the surgery and while they were taking him into the operation theatre, he saw a scripture on the wall and read it. It said, “I will give you new heart and new spirit.” It was as if God was speaking to him saying, “My son, you are an unbeliever, you are a skeptic, even then I love you and I will give you a new heart.” A great confidence came into his heart. He went into the theatre and the operation was successful. He came back as a new person. Once when I met him he said, “Brother, now I have a new physical heart. I also have a new spiritual heart. God’s word healed my wicked heart and His love is overflowing within me.” 

My friend, Jesus speaks to you through the Bible. The word of God does not give you worldly blessings alone. It also gives you spiritual blessings. Read the word every day. Let it be your food that nourishes your body and soul. Be filled with the Holy Spirit everyday and God will give you new strength. He will make you a blessing to many. You will be blessed. 

Prayer

“Loving Lord, thank You for speaking to me through Your word. I commit myself to read Your word every day from now on. I will never compromise on the time meant to be spent with You. Speak to me through Your word. This I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
