The Light 

A young man came running to me desperately. He said, “Paul, my life is in shambles. I don’t know what to do. I am addicted to so many evil things and I am not able to come out of this mess, this suffering. All my vices have made me sick. My body is trembling all the time. It is burning with fever, and I am a failure in everything that I do. My people have thrown me out; nobody wants me. Paul do you still say there is hope for me in this world? Will I be a success? Can you do something for me?” 

How often are young people troubled by feelings of insecurity? Uncertainties sometimes have a rather frightening effect on us and there is often a hesitation about moving forward in life, especially from the known to the unknown. Even today many of us face so many problems in our lives. We feel that we are unable to face such adverse circumstances in our lives. We feel that there is nobody competent enough to help us and bring out of our misery. My friend, Jesus said, ‘I am the light of the world. If any man follows Me he will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.’ Jesus wants to shine His light in your life. Even today He will come to your help when you call Him. 

Prayer

“Loving Lord, have mercy on me. Look at the trouble I am going through. Remove my agony, depressions and darkness. Let Your light shine on me and do a miracle in my life. This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
