Finding Joy

DAY 3 OF 3

Grace: Our Source of Comfort, Joy, and Peace

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
— 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)

The grace of God is one of the greatest gifts we have received as believers. Grace is God's unearned favor toward us. It is His kindness, love, and help freely given, not because of what we have done, but because of who He is.

Many of us carry burdens that feel too heavy to bear. We may struggle with guilt over past mistakes, worry about the future, or feel overwhelmed by the challenges of everyday life. Yet God's grace meets us in our weakness and reminds us that we do not have to carry life's burdens alone.

Grace comforts us because it tells us that we do not have to earn God's acceptance or strive endlessly to prove our worth. Through Jesus Christ, we have been welcomed into God's family and can rest in His love.

Grace also brings joy. When we realize that our salvation is a gift and not something we have earned, our hearts are filled with gratitude. We can rejoice knowing that God forgives our sins and has adopted us as His children, and has promised never to leave us nor forsake us.

Finally, grace gives us peace. We no longer have to live in fear of condemnation or wonder whether we are enough. God's grace assures us that Jesus has done what we could never do for ourselves. Because of Him, we can rest in the knowledge that God is working all things together for our good.

Reflection

  • Am I relying on God's grace or on my own strength?
  • What burden do I need to surrender to God today?
  • How has God's grace brought comfort, joy, or peace into my life?

Testimony

In the season when a great cloud of darkness covered my mind, I felt doomed because of the choices I had made in the past. I believed that the consequences of those mistakes would follow me forever and that my future had been ruined.

But God reminded me of His grace.

He showed me that by His grace I had the strength to overcome and to do His will. It was His grace that covered my past mistakes and made a way where there seemed to be no way. It was His grace that could take the mess I had created and turn it into a beautiful story. It was His grace that gave me the desire to pursue what was right and the strength to walk in obedience.

Today, many years later, I can testify that God has indeed created a beautiful story from what once seemed hopeless. I was a single mum in a broken relationship and unemployed. Today, I am married, blessed with more beautiful children, and serving God in ministry. I have the privilege of impacting the lives of young people and using the gifts God has given me in many different ways.

My life is full. In many ways, it is better than I ever imagined it could be. God has faithfully provided for all my needs, and I continue to trust Him for even more.

If there is one thing I have learned, it is this: God's grace is greater than your mistakes. No matter how broken your situation may seem, God can make a way. He can redeem what has been lost, restore what has been broken, and create beauty from ashes.

Run to Him, not away from Him. His grace is waiting for you.

Prayer

Dear Father, in Jesus' name,

Thank You for Your amazing grace. Thank You that Your love for me is not based on my performance but on Your goodness and mercy. Thank You for sending Jesus to save me and make a way for me to have a relationship with You.

Today I surrender every burden, fear, and worry into Your hands. Help me to rest in Your grace rather than striving in my own strength. Fill my heart with Your comfort when I am hurting, Your joy when I am discouraged, and Your peace when I feel overwhelmed.

Remind me daily that Your grace is sufficient for me and that Your power is made perfect in my weakness.

In Jesus' name I pray,

Amen.
