Finding JoySample

God, the source
"You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You."
— Isaiah 26:3 (ESV)
Scripture promises peace as a result of trusting in God. Trusting in God looks like what we read in Proverbs 3:5–6:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths." (ESV)
Trusting in the Lord means acknowledging God in every area of our lives, recognizing that our own understanding falls short, and believing that He will direct our paths. As we place our confidence in Him rather than in ourselves, we experience the perfect peace He promises in His Word.
Reflection
- Do I have peace in my heart today?
- Is my trust truly in God, or am I relying on my own understanding?
- What worries do I need to surrender to Him?
Testimony
I remember a time when life felt incredibly heavy, as though a dark cloud of sadness hung over me. The moment I woke up each morning, fearful thoughts, guilt, and anxiety rushed into my mind. I worried that the difficulties I was facing were the result of mistakes I had made in the past and that I was simply living out the consequences of my choices.
At times, I preferred to sleep because it allowed me to escape thinking about my life and how things were not going well. Sometimes the only prayer I could manage was, “Help me, God.”
During that season, I would sing the children's song:
"I'm happy today, so happy; in Jesus' name, I'm happy."
Even that simple song brought a little joy to my heart.
I continued to cry out to God for help and chose to trust Him, believing that He would restore my joy. Over time, God delivered me completely from that sadness. Since then, I have never experienced that same overwhelming darkness again.
God led me on a journey through His Word that brought healing, freedom, and lasting peace. I would like to share that journey with you.
Prayer
Dear Father, in Jesus' name,
Today I surrender my despair to You. I admit that I am not okay, but I choose to place my trust in You. Thank You for being my source of joy, peace, and hope. Restore my heart, renew my mind, and help me keep my eyes fixed on You. Teach me to trust You completely and to rest in Your promises.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
