DAY 1 OF 13

The Crack You Don’t See

In 1940, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge was an engineering marvel. It was long, sleek, and ahead of its time. Then one ordinary day, a steady wind started blowing, and the bridge began to twist like a ribbon. The whole bridge collapsed because the engineers had missed a hidden flaw.

Samson was that bridge.

Set apart to God before he was born and gifted with supernatural strength, Samson was raised to deliver Israel from the Philistines. He killed a thousand of them with a jawbone. Tore a lion apart bare-handed.

From the outside, he looked unstoppable. Yet underneath the strength were cracks like lust, pride, and entitlement that he refused to address. He kept telling himself, “I’ve got this. God’s with me.” He had no clue the constant pressure of compromise was bending him out of shape until everything came crashing down.

The enemy rarely takes you out with a hurricane. He waits for the small, steady winds—an unguarded thought, the same old habit, the relationship you know isn’t right—to find the weak place you never surrendered.

Friend, God already sees what’s beneath the surface. He isn’t surprised by it. He doesn’t expect perfection, but He is inviting you to wholeness. Bring your hidden places to Him and be healed!

Pray

Father, show me the cracks I’ve been pretending aren’t there. Strengthen the weak places before they bring me down. Amen.

About this Plan

Imperfect

The people God used most weren’t the polished ones. Samson compromised. Moses ran. Gideon hid in a winepress. They lied, raged, doubted, and drifted—yet each one ended up at the center of what God was doing. Over the next 13 days, we’ll walk through their stories and discover what God does with imperfect people who finally show up.
