Pivot

DAY 18 OF 28

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!

S: Scripture

If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.

O: Observation

Read Acts 20:32–35 again.

  • What stands out to you?
  • What's supposed to shape the way we live?
  • According to Paul, what truly brings joy?

A: Application

What's one area where you've struggled with being generous?

What needs to change to help you move toward increased generosity?

This week, how can you serve someone without being asked?

P: Prayer

Talk with God about how generosity feels to you right now. Ask for God to send people to help you grow in generosity. Then, ask for guidance as you grow to see giving as a way to experience joy.

About this Plan

Pivot

Sometimes the issue isn’t effort—it’s direction. Real change often begins with small, honest shifts in our habits, attitudes, and choices. Scripture shows how God invites us to pivot when our way isn’t working, leading to renewal and growth. In this series, students will see that God can turn our arrogance into humility, God can turn our cruelty into kindness, God can turn our selfishness into generosity, and God can turn our brokenness into wholeness.
