RELATIONSHIP - DEVOTION 1 - LAMENT

Over the next three devotionals, we will be focusing on the relationships in our life, both with God and with one another.

REFLECTION

From the very beginning, God designed us to do life with other people. Yet sometimes it can feel like we are on our own. This can be especially hard if we feel like we are the only Christian in our family or at school. Even though we know God is with us, it is such a gift to have other people around us who can support us and walk alongside us.

APPLICATION

Maybe today, you’re feeling that you’re on your own. Maybe there are friendships that are broken, and you don’t know what to do. Take a few moments to tell God how you are feeling. He loves when we come to him honestly, and we can be sure that if we come near to God, he will come near to us (James 4:8). And if you don’t have the words, sitting with him quietly is OK too.

PRAYER

Father God, thank you that you created us to be in good relationships with you and with one another. When I feel alone, please bring the right people around me. When I need help, please give me your boldness and courage to ask others for help. God, please fill me with your love so that I can share it with others when they are feeling lonely. Thank you that you are always with me. Help me to know your presence with me today. Amen.
