Exam Devotional

DAY 6 OF 12

WORRIES & ANXIETIES - DEVOTION 3 - COURAGE

REFLECTION

Read Joshua 1:9. Joshua, his family, and his community had spent 40 years in the wilderness. During that time, they had to trust God to provide food, shelter, and protection. In these verses, God is preparing them to enter a new land, and Joshua is about to become their leader. God encourages Joshua by reminding him that he will never leave or forsake him, and that he will keep the promises he has made to his people. This is the same God who loves you. He will not leave you or forsake you. The journey ahead may be full of surprises, but God will go with you.

APPLICATION

Being courageous means being motivated by our hope and faith in Jesus rather than by our fears. What is something you are hoping for? Is there a step you can take today to help make that hope a reality? Before you take that step, pause and use one of the breath prayers to pray and focus your eyes on God.

PRAYER

Dear Jesus, help me to be strong and courageous. When my knees feel shaky, strengthen them. When fear causes me to stumble, pick me up. Help me to do your will in my life. Lord Jesus, help me to follow you like Joshua did. Amen.
