Snapshots: Wake UpSample

You’ve Got What You Need
From a young age, I loved graphic design and video editing. With the help of a mentor, I turned that interest into a small business and invested in better tools along the way. I had a desktop computer at home and a laptop for when I traveled.
One day, a client asked me to start a project while I was away from home. I told them I would have to wait until I got back because my editing software was only on my desktop.
After a few days, I grew impatient and decided to look for editing software to download on my laptop. I opened the search bar and started typing “video edit.” Before I even finished typing, a program appeared.
It was already installed.
I could not believe it. I had spent months thinking I did not have the tools, when in reality, they were there all along.
In that moment, I felt God teach me something deeper. Sometimes we do the same thing in our faith. We look everywhere else for what we think we are missing. We assume we are not ready or not equipped.
But God has already placed gifts, passions, and purpose inside of us.
Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
You are not lacking. God created you with intention. What you need to live out His calling is already within you.
Pause: Have you been looking outside for something God may have already placed inside you?
Plan: List three strengths, passions, or gifts God has given you. Ask Him how you can use them this week.
Pray: God, thank You for how You have made me. Help me stop searching everywhere else and start walking in what You have already given me.

About this Plan

Sometimes we move through life on autopilot, missing the ways God is trying to get our attention. This plan comes from my book Snapshots, where each devotion begins with a photo and a lesson God taught me through that image. Through Scripture, reflection, and simple challenges, this plan will help you slow down and wake up spiritually. As you begin to notice God in everyday moments, you may discover that He has been speaking more than you realized.
