She Reads Truth - DanielSample

Delivered Again
If it weren't for the very real danger of the lion's den, it might be easy to picture Daniel slightly annoyed, arms crossed and frustrated, saying, “Seriously? This again?" He's never hidden who he is or who he worships, but once again he finds himself in peril over his devotion to the Lord. This time even the King is on his side, with his proverbial fingers crossed for Dan as he oversees him being tossed into the lion's den.
Once again the Lord shows up, and once again Daniel is spared, and once again the King brings God praise. It doesn't shock us because we know the story, and it doesn't shock us because we know it is in His very nature to show up, to be present, to be who He says He is. That is nothing to take lightly - His presence and power in our life. And yet, after we've known Him a while, it's easy to jump to the end of the story, isn't it? God loves me, He'll take care of me, He's got the whole world in His hands.
You know what, though? The picture that strikes me most isn't the lions subdued or Daniel climbing out unscathed - it's King Darius, in his chamber, stressed out and unable to sleep. Daniel and Daniel's God sure had his attention. This makes me think about our lives, our hearts, our days and wonder who is watching us and wondering if the Lord will show up. When He is constantly healing, working, and bringing life to us - are we paying attention enough for others to take notice? Are we actually recognizing and praising Him for the little or large lion's dens we encounter in our days? Is His presence making a difference in all those around us? Will they see Him move when He inevitably does?
Let's make sure. Let's stop and take stock and give glory, right now, today.

About this Plan

Maybe we’ve heard about Daniel and the lion’s den - but who was he really? Daniel was an exile from Judah in a foreign land (Babylon) with many eyes on him, watching which moves He would make and how those choices would define him. Let’s dig into Daniel together and let the Lord make Himself more known to us. Let’s read about the One who made Daniel’s story matter and who is still speaking truth to us through His words today.
