Seed: The Beginning of Increase
Every increase in Scripture begins with a seed, a small act that carries big potential. This is seen in nature (Genesis 8:22), in faith (John 12:24), and in the life of the Shunammite woman.
She recognized the grace upon the prophet Elisha and chose to offer him meals. Later, she built a room for him. She wasn’t bargaining with God or trying to earn a blessing. Her seed was simply honour expressed through generosity.
But in the Kingdom, no seed is ever wasted.
The beauty of a seed is that it looks insignificant until its harvest appears. A seed is your decision to say “yes” when it would be easier to hold back. A seed is giving what you can, even when you don’t understand where it will lead. A seed may look small to you, but it looks like a partnership to God.
What she planted in a quiet moment grew into a miracle, a son she never had the courage to ask for. Your own seeds of obedience, kindness, service, or honour may be preparing the ground for something you cannot yet imagine.
