Start the Year with God at the Centre

Every year begins full of plans, goals, and fresh dreams. But before we chase the “what,” God calls us to focus on the “Who.”

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus gives us the key to living with divine order:

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (NIV)

When God is first, everything else falls into its proper place. We often think success starts with strategy, but in God’s Kingdom, it starts with surrender. The first step to a fruitful year isn’t planning harder — it’s prioritising His presence.

Proverbs 3:6 reminds us: “In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

When we commit our ways to the Lord (Psalm 37:5), He takes what we place in His hands and directs it with wisdom and favor. God doesn’t just want to bless our plans — He wants to build them with us.

Today, pause and ask: “Lord, what do You want first in my year?”
Take time to submit your calendar, dreams, and decisions to Him.

Prayer:

“Lord, I dedicate this new year to You. Be first in my time, my thoughts, my priorities, and my plans. Direct my steps and align my heart with Yours. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
