Affirmation
From the very beginning, God revealed His heart of affirmation. Even after Adam and Eve sinned, He sought them out—not to shame them but to restore relationship. In Christ, He now clothes us with righteousness and calls us His children. Through Jesus, we move from fatherlessness to sonship. The Spirit confirms our adoption, teaching us to cry out, “Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15).
Before Jesus performed a single miracle, the Father declared, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). The same is true for us: God’s affirmation isn’t earned by our performance; it flows from our belonging as His children. His love speaks into every place of rejection, replacing striving with security.
This means when you know you belong to the Father, you believe His delight in you is unshakable. And from that belief, you begin to behave differently: no longer desperate for people’s approval but confident enough to speak life into others, affirming them with the same love you have received.
Application
Write down one lie you’ve believed about needing others’ approval. Then write God’s truth from today’s readings to replace it. Before the day ends, affirm one person with words that reflect the Father’s heart.
