Title: In The Room Where It Happens

Acts 2 tells us that three thousand people got saved in one day. That’s wild but the real miracle didn’t start with the crowd. It started with a community. It started with 120 people saying yes to God in a room nobody else saw. Before God changed their world, He changed them. And that’s how the Holy Spirit still works today. God changes the world by first changing me.

Peter, the same guy who once denied Jesus, stood up with boldness because the Spirit had changed him on the inside. Your transformation may not be loud, but it is powerful. The Spirit works in private before He moves in public. That’s why we believe; that in order to be publicly fruitful you must be privately healthy. Private moments in your room with God turn into public moments of influence at school.

Your “upper room” can be anywhere you choose to let God speak: your bedroom, the bus, the walk to school, even the shower. Guess where I got my first call to ministry, that’s right; you guessed it, the shower! When you let the Holy Spirit shape you in submission, He prepares you for the mission. You just need a desire to be in the room where it happens. Thank the Lord because the Spirit no longer resides in a physical room, He resides in you!

So don’t rush past the inner work. Submit to it. Welcome it. Lean into it. Because your private yes leads to your public impact.

Don’t forget, God changes the world by first changing me.
