Safe and Secure in Christ - 1

DAY 5 OF 7

Safe in His Hands

“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and He is more powerful than anyone else.” — John 10:28–29 (NLT)

Have you ever worried about “falling out” of God’s hands? Many young believers fear losing their salvation — especially when they make mistakes. Thoughts like “What if I don’t make it to the end?” or “What if I backslide?” often bring anxiety.

But here’s the truth: the same Jesus who saved you is the same Jesus who keeps you.

Jesus didn’t rescue you just to abandon you halfway. He didn’t bring you into God’s family only to throw you out if you struggle. He called you, saved you, and promised to keep you secure.

In John 10:28–29, Jesus gives us three unshakable assurances:
He gave us eternal life — not temporary life.
We will never perish — not “we might never perish.”
No one can snatch us from His or the Father’s hand — not even the devil.

Take a moment to picture this: your life is held in the strongest hands in the universe — God’s hands. There is no safer place to be.

Your security doesn’t rest on your ability to “hold on to God.” It rests on God’s ability to hold on to you. You are not saved by your strength, so you are not kept by your strength. Jesus is both the Author and Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He started the journey with you, and He will complete it.

Think of a parent holding a child’s hand while crossing a busy road. The child may stumble, trip, or get distracted, but the parent’s grip keeps them safe. That’s how God holds you — firmly, lovingly, and securely.

Yes, we are called to remain in Christ, grow in faith, and walk in obedience — but this growth happens because God is working inside us, not because we are perfect. Philippians 1:6 reminds us that “God… will continue His work until it is finally finished.”

So whenever fear tries to creep in, declare this truth:
“I am safe, not because I am perfect, but because God is faithful”.

Prayer
Father, thank You for holding my life securely in Your hands. I’m grateful that my salvation doesn’t depend on my strength, but on Your faithfulness. Help me trust Your keeping power every day and walk with confidence and peace in Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
