Back to the Basics 365

DAY 281 OF 365

Allow your pastor to minister to you and serve you. Don’t keep him at arm’s length. A great way to allow your pastor to pastor you is by intentionally being involved in his life. Send him an encouraging note or text. Try to greet him weekly. God has blessed you with the gift of a good pastor. Allow him to be what God has equipped him to be in your life.

Building a personal relationship with your pastor is important! Your pastor should become more than just a spiritual leader; you should develop a genuine friendship.

If you find it difficult to connect with your pastor on a personal level, make your best effort! Getting to know who your pastor beyond the pulpit enriches your spiritual journey.

I recall visiting a museum with my pastor and some church members years ago. Seeing a different side of him— funny, encouraging, and genuinely enjoyable to be around— reminded me that living in this fallen world doesn’t mean you have to compromise who you are. Let your pastor show you that authentic faith and joy can coexist.

About this Plan

Building a strong biblical foundation is essential for a lasting, authentic relationship with God! Back to the Basics 365 guides you through a yearlong discipleship journey modeled after how Jesus mentored His disciples. Daily readings include Scripture passages on the theme, plus chapters from Psalms and Proverbs to strengthen Worship and Wisdom. Devotions and monthly videos provide context and practical applications. In just 10 minutes per day, this plan will help you grow deeper in your faith and relationship with God!
