Back to the Basics 365Sample

Maintenance is always better and easier than a complete overhaul. Simple routine maintenance on your car can save you from catastrophe later on in the life of that car. Maintaining a lawn is a lot easier than completely rescuing an overgrown yard. As a disciple of Christ, there are some things to keep your eye on that can prevent you from finding yourself in a place you never want to be. James 4:6-8 gives us some of the things to look out for:
- Watch your pride—instead choose humility.
- Resist the devil—do not give place to the devil.
- Draw nigh (near) to God.
- Confess and forsake sin.
It is important to read your Bible and pray to keep your life on track for God, and we must be aware of the pitfalls that can knock us off track. Thankfully, the Bible provides the ways to restore us should we stumble at some point, which ultimately helps us in our maintenance of our lives for Christ.
