The Aroma of ChristSample

Day 5: Let us be a Fragrance of Generosity
Dear friend, being the aroma of Christ, as well as being salt and light to the world, is a blessing, but also a responsibility. We are representatives of Jesus in this world, in our homes and neighborhoods. Giving off a fragrance of generosity is a wonderful way to demonstrate God's love, and one of the simplest ways. You don't need riches or a spectacular position in government to be considered generous. You just need to be empathetic, compassionate, and allow God's Spirit to guide and flow through you.
There's a woman in the Bible who blessed me greatly when I learned her story. Her name was Dorcas, a woman full of faith. She strove to do good works and help the poor using the resources God had provided her. Dorcas impacted her community, and God rewarded her generosity in two tremendous ways. When she died the first time, He allowed her to rise again, and because she followed Christ, she will rise again at the Lord's second coming. And the second blessing is that her name, her story, and her generosity were recorded in the Holy Scriptures.
Beloved, never underestimate what God can do through you, even in the simplest and most humble acts of generosity. Teach your children the art of giving. What a wonderful way to be a sweet smelling fragrance, giving what we freely receive from Him. Many seek to excel in every ministry, but the Lord is pleased with a cheerful giver.
Let's pray. Thank you, Lord, thank you for allowing us to learn this fruit that we are, Father, your instrument that you want to bless and impact the world with in very simple things. Just preparing a few cookies at Christmas for our neighbors or just helping somebody to cross the street safely. There are so many ways that we can be generous. We want to minister the fragrance of Christ to others through our generosity. Help us Lord, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
