Hunger and Thirst for God Attracts His Presence

Spiritual hunger is a sign of vitality. Where it disappears, lukewarmness sets in. Jesus promised that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled. This is not a vague promise, but a certainty: God reveals Himself to those who seek Him passionately.

In the Bible, we see this principle at work. Moses cried out, “Show me Your glory!” David sighed, “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.” These fervent prayers drew the divine Presence. In the history of revivals, hunger for God has always preceded His visitation. Hearts dissatisfied with the status quo cried out for more of Him, and heaven responded.

In this time of setting apart, I realize how much God deepens our spiritual hunger to draw us closer to Him. It is a blessing when nothing else can satisfy us but His Presence. Just as a desert makes us long for water, this lack opens up a space to be filled with the Spirit. Smith Wigglesworth said, “God will fill the man who is determined to have nothing but Him."

Spiritual hunger is not a lack, but a driving force. It pushes us to pray fervently, to meditate on the Word eagerly, to refuse mediocrity. The more we taste His Presence, the more we thirst for it.

Declaration of Faith:
I choose to feed my hunger for God. I believe that He will fill me with His Presence. I proclaim that my thirst will draw down the rain of revival for my generation.

Prayer:
Lord, give me a new hunger for You. Free me from lukewarmness and false fulfillment. Fill my soul with Your Spirit and make me a living fountain. May my life make those around me thirst for You.
