The Bible Made Simple [Overview]Sample

In this reading plan, you get to know the Big Picture of the Bible.

This Big Picture can be described like this:
The Bible reveals God’s plan to rescue humanity through Jesus Christ.

Here’s what we’ve seen so far:
✊ The Rebellion – How the problem begins
📜 The Law – The uncovering of the problem
✝️ The Cross – The solution to the problem

Today, we see how the problem is overcome.

In the last session, we saw how the problem was finally solved:
Jesus died and reconnected us to God.

If we repent and trust in Jesus alone, we will be saved and receive the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit, and He was sent to live in the followers of Jesus.

“The Spirit of God lives in you.” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

Because God’s Spirit lives in us, we are always connected to God.

And the Spirit helps us every day to represent God by making us more like Jesus.

“We are being transformed into [Jesus’] image […] by the Spirit.”
(2 Corinthians 3:18)

So, because the Holy Spirit now lives in Jesus’ followers, we can:

• Stay connected to Him all the time
• Represent Him on earth again

The Spirit helps us overcome the problem now.

But the problem still impacts the whole world.

Look around you.

You still see rebellion, death, suffering, etc.

But one day it will be gone forever.

Tomorrow:
We’ll look at the final part of the Big Picture—the end of the problem.

For now, you can read what happened when the Holy Spirit came down from Heaven in Acts 2.

Application:
Do you realize that the Holy Spirit lives in you—that He sees what you see, hears what you hear, and walks with you in everything you do?

God,
Thank You for sending Your Spirit to live in me.
Change me step by step,
and make me more like Jesus.
