Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 31 OF 365

So the multitudes said, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee” (Matthew 21:11 NKJV).

Are you born again?

In Matthew chapter 21, Jesus is identified as the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee. Yes, it is true, Jesus was a prophet. Deuteronomy 18:15 and 18:18 predicted that there will be a prophet like Moses, a future deliverer. That is the Lord Jesus Christ. Sadly, the people do not understand that Jesus came to be the savior of the world. He came to his own, we're told in John 1:11, and his own received Him not. Then we are given great encouragement in John 1:12 (NKJV) that “as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” Yes, Jesus is a prophet, but more than a prophet, He is the savior of the world. We need to make sure that we have turned from our sin and believed in Jesus; He took our sin upon Himself and conquered death. Let your faith be displayed by a fruitful life!

Employment Point: Believe in Jesus’ finished work on your behalf to be saved.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
