Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 280 OF 365

For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ (Philippians 3:18 NKJV).

What should we wait for when the enemy rages?

Isaiah 37 teaches us that when the southern kingdom of Judah faced an overwhelming enemy, King Hezekiah sought the Lord, and God miraculously delivered them (Isaiah 37:36). God possesses the divine power to save those who trust in Him.

In times of trouble, where do you turn? The world offers many solutions, but Paul, in Philippians 3, reminds us that our true citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await our King and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:20). What are you waiting for today—earthly wisdom or help from the Divine?

Employment Point: Expect Jesus’ protection when evil abounds, and await His return.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
