Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and before honor is humility (Proverbs 15:33 NKJV).
Are you teachable like Joseph and Jesus?
Joseph, starting at the age of 17, had gone through a 13-year period of trials, as we read about in the book of Genesis. Instead of looking at his brothers who treated him horribly, he chose rather to focus upon the Lord being in charge. As a result, Joseph walked with humility, pleased God, and is recorded in Hebrews 11:22 as being a man of faith.
Our Lord Jesus Christ had some of the same characteristics of Joseph. He was a man who walked with His father, was rejected by His brothers, and at the end of the day, pleased His Father. Why? He walked in humility.
Joseph and Jesus experience humiliation before exaltation in God’s school for great leaders.
Employment Point: Willingly submit to God’s ways of training like Joseph and Jesus.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
